Ice cream cone #97

  • So today I've come to the conclusion that I've somehow alienated every person possible around me out of my comfort zone. That sounds 100% like a bad thing, cause for an extrovert, the worst thing is not to have anyone around and you're gonna have to reduce yourself to mundane individual tasks like reading books or watching movie series or going to that English class that you've deliberately avoided for the past few weeks. It's just not a happy one.
  • Everybody has these days, I like to think that. Because otherwise I'd just be this weird antisocial kid who obviously has no patience or tolerance towards absolutely anything, and is superbly annoying to be around. And if in that case, it's society that's alienating me, not the other way around. That's why, like it or not, I have to believe that this is just one of those days. The days when you see friends around you have more interesting things to do, and are waving those fun activities on social media, similar to a pervert waving his handicapped dick at your face trying to be aroused, are the days when you either wish you own a nuclear bomb or pretend that you could call a guy and hook up with him while taking slutty photos with your tongue sticking out of your mouth and champagne spilling on your boobs. This is today for me.
  • So immediately the first thought that came to my head was not to speak with those people ever again, which by the way is a completely amateur shot, because after all, the burden of an extrovert is that they usually need others more than others need them. So with this way, you just end up feeling more alone than ever while watching others continue to enjoy life and showing it off through hideously filtered photos on Instagram.
  • And then, the second thought came up. Which was, can I join you? You know, if you can't find a proper reason to hate on people, be one of the hated, so that other antisocial kids could have a chance to loathe and envy you at the same time. I have to admit, this is pretty pathetic, because somehow it looks like your life is so boring you have to cling to something else to make it better. Which, sadly, is exactly the case. So, as much as I want to stand up, get dressed, call everyone I've alienated and offer to join their lives, my pride stops me with  a harsh glare and a mumble of "you don't need them anyways".
  • I write way more than I should. I can't even find a reason to write stuff down anymore. I always think that in order to write, you should read first, and I'm not that big of a reader. I'd much more enjoy listening to a good piece of classical music, taking photos or even cooking a new recipe. I guess I just like direct contact, I always have, and reading to me doesn't seem like the best way. Yet after such a shameful confession, I still find myself craving to get my fingers tapping on the laptop keyboard, writing such stuff that nobody reads out of mere satisfaction. I'm a person of a lot of guilt, so writing so much without ingesting anything back in my head in return, also feels like a guilt.
  • Just babbling about nonsense. Back to reality. I think I'm gonna really go to that English class today to get things over with. I've been putting my mind everywhere else but the places it needs to be put, and it's got to change.
  • Short thoughts on a rainy boring hateful day. I'm gonna take the most useless nap in the world. Good day folks.

Ice cream cone #96: that summer soundtrack

  • Although I'm feeling pretty fine at the moment, I have to say this is the loneliest I've felt in a while. I can't talk to any of my best friends anymore, because each one of them, imho, are letting themselves sink in unnecessarily self-destructive relationships and I can't help but feel like I'm the last sane one with the smallest bomb in my lap that if it explodes, I'm not gonna be injured as much as they are.
  • The hardest part is when you say to them no, I don't judge you at all, just talk to me when you feel like it, I'm always ready. And although I do mean every word, watching them going into the forest with traps lied under their feet and seeing them ignore your warnings isn't as easy.
  • I don't even care about it that much, must say. Because I'm not that great of a friend, must say again. I have to confess this to myself in case my future self reads this post and thinks 'oh, I used to be so selfless and caring for others'. I just want them to go back to their normal state so that I'll have my friends back. That's how selfish I am, everything that are seemingly good that I do, I do it for the sake of myself, not of anybody else.
  • One thing I have to admit that I've learned the hard way this year is how I don't let go of some stuff very easily. Like how Camellia told me she's not gonna talk to me about her relationship because she needs to talk to an "adult" to feel secure. At that time I just thought it was my pride being hurt, and I usually don't remember it for very long, usually just for a day or so. But it's been 3 days, and I'm honestly drained from any intention of talking to her. What are we even gonna talk about anyways? Are we gonna keep talking about my beneficial relationship, which I don't even have that much problems anymore, or are we just gonna keep up normal conversations about what's going on in the world. She's not gonna even listen. She's too busy freaking out about her relationship, but doesn't wanna talk to me about it.
  • I get it that the simple rules that people have lined up for a relationship needs a lot of time and experience to be followed. It took me two years of lying to myself to be convinced that not everyone who kisses you are the one, and don't persuade yourself to believe that people change. It took me meanwhile another year to realize when you fall in love, it's supposed to be fun, and when there's no fun anymore, then it's time to stop. Until recently I've learned that you don't rely on just one person's actions to decide whether today's a good day for you or not. It's difficult for the first-lovers cause they usually give it their all and expect to be given just the same. I'm 99% an optimist about life, but the 1% left of me is wholly dedicated to relationships. I see the dark side in e-ve-ry relationship and I see, or wish to see how they eventually end. Distant relationships, like it's even gonna work. I can't even read all of those lover's stories on tumblr or watch rom-com anymore because to me they're all portraying lies. That's why it's so hard for me to see Camellia biting herself bleeding in this unstable relationship while deciding that I'm not reliable to talk about it.

  •
  • As much as Camellia wants to think a lot and sinks herself in her thoughts all day, I don't wanna be that. I hate myself for thinking wayyyyy too much about such stupid things. I don't wanna think about how I'm somehow holding responsibility in her relationship, and as much as I want it to turn out a train wreck, I can't cause then I'd feel guilty. I hate myself for figuring out why I'm so fed up with the majority of the people like I am at the moment, because then I wouldn't be able to expect anything from anyone anymore. I hate how easily I can spot out the lies in romantic movies, how I notice every change in the way he talks to me, how every time we talk, the enthusiasm drops down a notch.
  • I just wanna lie around being completely useless but not having to think about anyone in particular. Because after all, it's written on my face that I think too much, and that I'm not even attractive, in terms of personality because I'd overanalyze anything anyone does, and then figure out a reason to get bored of them.
  • In hindsight, I'm just a terrible replica of a thoughtful and lively person. Why am I always filled with truths and bored consumptions??
  • I've been listening to that song "Leave your lover" an awful lot lately. Not the most appropriate song to listen to at the moment, but the melody really speaks to me. I guess it's just another feature of someone who's addicted to sex and lust, I don't like to read the lyrics. I don't want to get to know what the song is about or to whom the artist sings. Every once in a while, I deliberately don't want to sing along to the song, I just like the melody to flow in my head and wake up every emotion possible. But no joke, this Sam Smith kid makes really good music.
  • And in a nick of time I realized I've found myself the soundtrack for this summer. Now when I eventually grow out of being so nonsense, and every time I hear a song from this album, every piece of anger, lust and passion will wake up and fill my head. I fear for when that moment comes.
  • Such a long post out of a random decision. Should stop here before my babbling gets boring. Have a good one guys.

Ice cream cone #84: movies

  • 5 days til Valentine's day. Ew.
  • I have to start school tomorrow, which means, more bus, more heat, less sleep, less life. Being back to school is soooo hardddd after more than a month of practically doing nothing.
  • Anyways, some stuff happened that made me wanna write a short movie review so badd.

  • American Hustle: I first knew about the movie through a Jennifer Lawrence fansite that I (was practically forced to) follow on facebook. And although I've watched The Hunger Game, out of curiosity, and Silver Lining's Playbook, with high hopes in JLaw's performance, what she delivered did not satisfy me, not even one bit. Let's talk about Silver Lining's a little bit, IMHO, she was very stiff in pretty much the entire movie, especially on the scene when she explained to Bradley why her husband died, I expected to actually feel something. And as imaginative and full of hope as I was, I couldn't relate, at all. All that was in my head was, maybe it's just bad performance, maybe it's better in the book, if there is one. Therefore, when I watched the American Hustle trailer, I inevitably paid more attention to JLaw's performance. But, after having watched the movie about three times, I'd say this movie is Christian Bale's game. Batman was Bale's first movie that I got to watch, then followed by The Prestige and American Psycho (which I slightly enjoyed, but not as much as Donnie Darko). And in all of these movies, I still see Bale, with his specially structured teeth and his accent and his way of acting. But in Hustle, I think he had a step up. Just by not having to focus too much on the fact that I'm watching a Bale movie makes me enjoy it so much more. His accent, his way of showing the struggle with his marriage, his way of falling in love and even his appearance in this movie makes me gain a big lot of respect for him afterwards. Bradley Cooper did his best to prove to the audience that he's no longer a pretty boy who does silly blockbusters, and for some minute in this movie I actually hate Richie. Amy Adams' was enjoyable, seeing her doing something so different from Julie & Julia and Leap Year was fresh. I'd say JLaw's performance in Hustle has this gap comparing to Adams, especially in the scene when Sydney tells Irv that she might fall for Richie a bit. I started out on this movie thinking that I'd be watching Lawrence's acting for fun, turned out her performance annoyed me the most when the rest of the cast was being in so deep with the script. Overall the movie was enjoyable, I still question the picture quality, don't know if I'd downloaded a bad torrent file or what, full of surprises, but when you've come to know the max, it's not gonna be the kind of movie that I'd wanna watch thoroughly for the second time. 3,8/5.
  • Aaaahhhh I've got soo much stuff to talk about in the past few days. But first, I need to fully focus on the fact that hOLIDAY ENDS TOMORROW :((

Ice cream cone #82

  • Sooooo, no new name for the cone. Still the overly happy post title that in certain ways annoys me.
  • Apparently I haven't written much about work in here. Probably because it's not awfully to my passion, which is weird because I swear sometimes I do feel passionate about it, and I'm the kind of person who can't get any work done without inspiration or good inner motivation. But I guess my work, in my opinion, only defines itself by photography.
  • It's kind of true. It's the only thing that I consider an outcome of this. Anything else seems a bit vague and I constantly feel like I don't quite finish the job.
  • But ever since I had this 4 megapixel camera that didn't do much of the job, I had this desire to photograph fashion lifestyle. I've always been a fan of toying around with clothes and accessories and finding the right composition. It's art at its best, because it expresses personality directly and fiercely, well, depends on the person, probably. But I haven't had much success in creating those photos. Don't know why, although I've tried and gone into some serious researching, but not much have improved.
  • So I switched to food photography, and suddenly it was so much easier. I don't know if it's the much less complicated subject, or because it's another form of art being put together, maybe it's the form of art that indulges the cameramen enough that they can actually taste it. Nevertheless, I started to feel happy about my work again. And it partly satisfies my passion to take fashion photos, kind of makes me believe I'm not that useless with an overpriced camera.
  • Every single time I log on to this blog I wander around the good ol' fashion // lifestyle blogs that I've been following for years. I don't add any more blogs because partly I don't find any blogs that are worth adding anymore, and partly because it's really hard to find someone whose work you can get so easily inspired from. And every single time I scroll through those blogs, I feel small, like the work I've done with food is just sand, and theirs are miles and miles of woods. It's almost like a guilty pleasure, because the photos that they took can inspire me to the point where I can pick up a camera to go anywhere just to take a memory card full of photos, then return home, edit all of them and upload them all here. But at the same time, it's just sad, because I'm still here, sitting in the chair I've been sitting for the past 6 years, still blogging about how left out I feel from the world, it just doesn't feel like I'm getting anywhere with this.
  • But, to be fair, I might not get as much success as I did if I had a chance to work with real fashion shoots. Food, in some ways, are much more forgiving, and I can put my own opinion into a photo without having anyone telling me they could hire someone who works better in fifteen seconds.
  • Food photography is my comfort zone.
  • Doesn't make much sense, but, just a few thoughts that I need to get out of my head.

Ice cream cone #81

  • No more yogurt cup, I've been writing yogurt cup for somewhat 2 or 3 years now. Time to change. But I might keep changing it until I finally can find something that I really like, cause Ice cream cone sounds a bit too happy for these types of writing.
  • Unlike yogurt cups. They're neutral. You could like or not like a yogurt cup. I don't like eating yogurt that badly, I just like the idea of a big paper cup full of soft yogurt, topped with lots and lots of fruit and maybe a glaze of chocolate sauce. Well, on some days, my words are just plain yogurt, on other days, they're topped with something happy. Ice cream cones seem like they always resemble something happy, they're never sad, and everyone seems to like a good big ice cream cone.
  • That's it. I'm gonna come up with something more appropriate next time.
  • Happy new year. On the first week of new year I burnt my leg pretty badly with the scroller, found out that I passed Linguistics, had to stay at home for two straight days, received two comments about how much I've gained weight (one from a colleague from mom's office, one very long and detailed from mom about which exact part of my body have gained weight and how badly I look now). Yayy to 2014.
  • Made me come back to think does it really matter that much? They could adopt if I get too ugly you know. They could've done it when I started that acne phrase in 8th grade. I'm ugly all the time if you didn't notice.
  • That grammar nazi guy who'd been annoying me secretly for half a year finally took a hit on me, right when I was not in my best mood. And I reacted, as naturally as I could've, and I was pretty sure he sat back with shock and disgust about the new kind of person he just found out in me. Thinking back about it, it's pretty funny though, cause most of the time people just think I'm this easily trusting and quite dinky girl who talks too much and can be fooled by almost anything. Therefore, she can't react for the sake of it.
  • Even my best friend thinks I trust people too much. How is that?
  • Yesterday I had this terrible migraine that occasionally sneak up on me when I'm not getting much sleep (which I highly doubt since I finished all of my exams about 5 days ago and indulge myself everyday to a 9-hour sleep, hence the weight gain and the very "constructive" comments above), and had this immediate urge to go to bed, or else I'd throw up or pass out at some point. And no calls.
  • It's funny to think, since I make the call everyday, having this need to talk, and then one day I don't, and it doesn't bother anybody in the world, that I have to go to be at 9:30 because this frigging migraine was haunting me, he still lives happily and busily. And then i realized something I should have two thousand years ago: He doesn't care about me at all. Why should I make the call everyday, to someone who doesn't even appreciate the effort or the feelings anyways? It's just sick, and I really don't wanna talk to him about it, cause every time I do, or try to, he'll pull out one of the cards, in this box that says "Excuses", and reads loudly and emotionally, and forces me to shut up and accept it.
  • Why should I waste time, emotions and words for someone who has never succeeded in making me happy?
  • I had this problem when I was around 16 or 17 is that I truly did not believe that anyone could see through me, I saw those love photos on flickr, I watched all of those movies, I listened to all of those songs, and they appeared fake to me. It's like they made it up to sell to girls who were emotionally inexperienced like me, when I was 16.
  • Then I turn 18 and got this so-called "taste" of having a so-called partner. And then suddenly they made sense. Like, I knew the feelings expressed in those works were real, they didn't write it from a place in their brains that only wanted to sell records or tickets. What a revolution.
  • And as I turned 20, this so-called partner of mine has made me despise all of those songs and movies and photos that seemingly made sense. Because no such good things could happen to people. Because they didn't happen to me. I'm just constantly surrounded by reasons and excuses and sighs and scolds that I got to the point where I don't understand what being treated well is like.
  • And then it dawned on me. I was treated badly by almost every guy who had this fucking idea of interest in me. Summer flings, phone calls to their girlfriends to make sure that they won't show up before making a word to go have lunch with me (it's a fast-food lunch, dumbass -- not like I asked you to take me to a senior prom or anything), messages on facebook asking how I've been, although they're not that very interested in finding out about me anyways,... Why are you interested in me when all you do is to treat me like some kind of stray cat? I'm not scared of being alone you know. It's so much more liberating than having lines and lines of things to be concerned about, especially if those concerns come from unworthy people.
  • I'll just wait til Camellia's finished with her exams and then maybe we'll go somewhere and take nice photos and maybe hang out with people I haven't seen in years and forget about all of this goddamn mess.
  • And here are some photos to make my post not look so depressed.

Yoghurt cup #78: things

Well, of course, life is made up by things.

  • The new boyfriend blue blouse that I bough from the flea market today that cheers me up so well.
  • The bunch of perfume samples that I got for no reason. I don't know why I've been so deeply interested with using perfumes lately. And I have about 10 or more samples so I guess I won't have to even think about buying a full bottle in at least two months.
  • The floral dress that (sadly, or gladly) that my mom looks better in than I do.
  • Delicious crepes with delicious coconut-flavored ice cream.
  • Braiding my hair.
  • Getting to use the Chocomania shower gel. Which smells absolutely amazing.
  • The Burberry Body perfume which lasts for-ever.
  • Tomorrow's payday yay.
  • Blue illustrated elephant.

Yoghurt cup #69: Death

  • Growing up is not fun. The worst part is when you stand at one point, thinking that you haven't changed one bit since the time flew, and then you look back at the small but vital details and realize that you've grown into a completely different person it's ridiculous!
  • Change is always fascinating to get used to, but, like my relation to the character in Midnight In Paris, the past has a mystery of a girl who is loved by every guy, but will never belong to anybody.
  • Food heals, it's true. Well, more precisely, good food heals.
  • I've been watching a lot of movies lately, and it's a good thing. French movies make me feel really really good after enjoying, don't know if there's more good French movies to watch hmmm...
  • Anyways, short writing. I'm off to be a so-called adult.

Stormy weather

Photos taken on some of my go-out dates recently. When the city wasn't wounded.

.
.
.

It's sunny again today. What a city. No matter what she's been put through, the next day, she still manages to cover itself in sun rays like she's trying to say, now now, everything's fine now.
I can't stay anywhere else other than here. Although there were numerous times when I desperately wanted to move to the seaside and stay for a month or two, I always came crawling back "fix und fertig" as the German usually said to love this city again.
Cold days like this reminds me of the early summertime, which got me thinking, why does it always feel like all of the good things that I thought happened to my life, I always assumed they happened in the summer? Summertime on a morning after the nighttime rain, listening to acoustic music, dreaming of a visible object, like a camera that I now own, staying alone in my room staring at the bookshelf on the wall picturing what it would be like in university. Oh sigh at how much has happened since that thought, since I used to play these songs.
I started this thing in my journal under another depression about a year ago when I was in senior year, the reason why I  had depression, I had no idea. It seems like I always feel unhappy, although like Tyler straightly commented on my life, there's nothing to be unhappy about. But that thing was that I would picture myself a year from then, in order to find an escape from reality, which probably was I was under a bunch of pressure about studying and the university entrance exams and stuff. I only got to two days of that little project, then as boredom kicked in, I got back to writing bullcrap about how I was mistreated on everything which actually now looking back, I wasn't. I really wish my stupid bullcrap wouldn't have jumped on my face and I could continue to write for a few more days. In those short entries I wrote, I pictured myself knowing a headful of German words, which is by far quite true, being an exhausted but blissfully gay and carefree little freshman who would come home in a good mood everyday after school. Haha, but I must've forgotten to picture the people that I met in university. It was them who changed the picture.
I've wanted to continue that project, but the timing last year was absolutely impeccable because I acknowledged very well how in the mere two years my life would alter completely. Now it's not even a good time anymore.
This has gone a bit longer than a "short thoughts" tagged post I usually do, so I'm gonna stop babbling about things now.
Have a nice week :)

I was in the middle of a really long and eventful yoghurt cup then he said something yesterday that made me lose all of my interests in writing creatively whatsoever. It was something like, I'm not that different from everybody else, when I'm with people I get affected by them and act like them the whole time. He said that only when I'm alone do I feel like myself the most. I know I shouldn't take this too seriously but I can't help with the effect that it's created towards my every foundation of life. I know deep down I'm not that different from people, I only act weird and think that I am so that I could define who I am, but sometimes it's best to be kept ignorant about certain things.

I was going to start a long and boring talk about how I'm never sure about how people feel about me in general, but screw it. The more I write about it the more unnecessarily complicated it gets. Just enjoy the moment while it lasts and take some good photos. Life's better & easier spent that way.

The flea market

.
.
.
.
.

Although it wasn't exactly the flea market that I'd imagine, for one, almost all of the items for sale are new, and they didn't quite understand the spirit of a flea market, I must admit there were a lot of cool stuff today. I bought a bunch of silly useless things like a princess chamber door key, a dream catcher (which, to me, was the best bargain of the day although the price was extravagant I'm very sure about that), two tank tops which were pretty cute and a scarf that I have absolutely no idea what I'm gonna use for. Now I know why when people go through a tough time they go shopping, such a soothing remedy for the mind to get excited about fun things that you can actually buy and I'm telling you, the cheerleader effect has never been more accurate.

The 'spot'

.

.
.
.

To celebrate the fact that I'm practically done with finals and Cam's only days away, we hung out yesterday. I think this was the most successful feel-good hangout we've had in a while.
I seriously want to become a lifestyle photographer in the future. I know it's a long way to go and I'm gonna have to take a lot of criticism about my photography skills, but if I can get paid for taking photos of coffee shops or bistros or anything I've experienced, that would be the beginning of my dream job.
