Yoghurt cup #61

 credit: tumblr

  • After the rain I've walked through today I think I deserve fried food.
  • Fried chicken to be exact.
  • No sunset today. The sky just went darker on its own. But I like it like that, reminds me a bit of night times in Moscow when the sky would just refuse to go dark although the atmosphere was starting to get dense and chilly to prepare for the long sleep to wake the day.
  • And I like the fog looking afar. Makes the city look cold. Which is something relatively rare to feel here.

  • At first it was like missing a trip to the city, and your inside just kind of rolled up every time something reminded you of that trip. A cup of coffee, a photo, even the smell of the soap you'd bought in one of those previous trips you'd made. You thought of every way to get yourself in that old route, to grasp back the feeling you'd once been so accustomed to, but not even knowing what you would even do if you were to make it . After a while, it was like missing a seaside trip. Perfectly feasible, but not at the moment. The sound of the waves, the smell of the sea grew in you like a disease, but you knew you couldn't just flee to the bay, buy a ticket and be on your way carelessly. Circumstances wouldn't let you make that trip. At last, it was merely like missing a trip to a vigorously beautiful, yet faraway country that you've once been lucky to be to. Not in your reach anymore, just a glimpse of an experience flashing through the back of your mind every now and always, reminding you not about the place, but also the person you used to be, the streams of thoughts you used to swim in. Then, perfectly timed and placed, something will remind you, almost instantly that you have to live, right now, live the moment. And you rush through the time, leaving the memories like pieces of jewelry in the park, sparkling under the sunlight, waiting for your eyes to notice again.
  • Rebecca Ferguson's voice is ab.so.lute.ly amazing. As fangirly as I have been for the past few days reading fan fics and saving photos, I somehow felt a bit gutted how Zayn doesn't date her anymore, cause she's so sweet and her voice is authenticity in the form of musical notes.
  • My music taste is getting pretty weird and girly not even in a good way.
  • I really wanna stay up late on nights like this just breathing the cold air but I usually get very tired after a long day at school like today and Camellia isn't always there so, I end up going to bed ridiculously early, thinking, oh well, if I can't stay up ridiculously late then I'd better do something to distinguish myself from the world that goes to bed at around 10, 11pm. Pfffffttt please.
  • Because going to bed at a certain time is too mainstream haha
  • I want one of those Wreck This Journal notebooks for multiple reasons: one, I'm a notebook collector, and every molecule in my vein started to scream right at the second I saw the first page inside that notebook. Two, I'm a journal writer, and I've been running out of inspiration for my own journal for a while now, and this thing is exactly what I need to have a feel-good-I-actually-created-something-fun-to-look-at moment that I've been lacking. Three, some people did a marvelously awesome job on their books and I wanna give it a try and see how mine goes. Four, the idea of carrying it around wherever I go kind of excites me. Because I've always managed to keep a distance between the world where I sit down and write journal and the actual socializing world I mostly live in, therefore somehow when I transfer my thoughts into words they tend to become so much more polished and metaphoric than needed. So maybe this is just another method of keeping your head down to earth or stuff like that. Nice idea.
  • Wow that one went a little longer than expected.
  • Yesterday I watched The Great Gatsby and was so annoyed by the so-called charismatic voice of Daisy Buchanan I had to call Camellia and share my burden. Then, after 50 minutes of having to endure the voice, I switched to watching Breakfast at Tiffany's with the more than gorgeous Paul Varjack and everybody's favorite cat who doesn't even own a name.
  • Reminder: wash the Kabuki brush, again, clean the fish tank, sleep in for as late as possible.
  • I've grown a weird love for sleeping several unnecessary hours straight for no reason.
  • ( some part of me was glad that the randomly weird Jenny's slowly coming back in me. The other parts, I still haven't received any reception from them yet. )
  • Alright, going to bed. Have a nice weekend folks.

Random playlist

The most random of all. I've been quite uninspired lately and the mere act of looking at the keyboard while I'm typing this gets me amused in a weird way. I'm still very much procrastinating on studying Philosophy. Dreading subject. If you ever have any intention of getting your kids in one of the universities in Narnia, don't. Your kids are going to end up being boring like me, or commit suicide.
Haha I'm just kidding. It's not that bad, I'm just boring and bored.
I'm seriously committing to the idea of taking enough photos with Cam to do a stop-motion movies next time we go out. But all must wait until finals are finished.

So here's the tracks that I've been listening to for an awful lot of times lately.

  • One Direction ~ One Thing (Acoustic)
  • My Chemical Romance ~ Sleep
  • Selena Gomez & The Scene ~ Hit The Light
  • Rihanna ~ Rehab
  • Marina & The Diamonds ~ Radioactive
  • Boy ~ Little Numbers
  • Boy ~ Boris
  • Why is it that Boy sounds so much better played on the music website than on my iPod or on my laptop???
That's basically it. Not much. I haven't been doing anything much lately. Literally.

But seriously, Boy sounds so good it's ridiculous!!!

Yoghurt cup #52

  • How tired I am right now, yet another post is being written when I'm very very sleepy.
  • And it's only 8:08pm!! Makes up to endless nights of staying up too late.
  • For example I stayed up til 12:38am last night/this morning (the whole am/pm thing is really messed up ._.) just talking to him.
  • God I just don't understand why he kept saying he wasn't good-looking. When we were derping (lol, we were seriously derping the entire fucking place for about 3 hours) in the coffee shop and he was sitting on the couch higher than me, I took a look at him, and was amazed at myself for after almost two months of knowing him I'm still sometimes awe-struck by how good-looking he is.
  • And he was dead serious about the road trip to the beach. How on Earth am I gonna be able to sneak up on mom about this??? I've got a plan already, but it's gonna need some serious consideration and help from Hannah. Hannah if you'll love me enough you're gonna have to back me up on this.
  • This is the first time I wish I were those kids who stayed in the dorm. Then I could be free to do whatever the hell I want to do.
  • Picked up a book about Moscow yesterday in the coffee shop and all of a sudden the definition of beauty has found its way back to me.
  • How I wish I could have brought my camera to take photos in Russia *SOB SOB SOB*!! I want to go again!
  • For a moment there I just thought, wow, my life used to be exciting.
  • Making myself quite a habit of reading back the IMs after talking with him.
  • I SO DON'T WANT TO BE A 'DUDE' IN HIS EYES! What's with me and girliness?
  • Totally ignoring that i have a Psychology test tomorrow.
  • FUCK IT I HATE SCHOOL! The only thing that motivates me to study is him.
  • Look how scary it is that he naturally reigns my life.
  • I sound exactly like those girls who are always whining about being alone after a minor so-called heartbreak, although lately I've been finding myself understanding more about their world.
  • It came naturally though, I had a situation, thought about a simple solution, miscellaneously thought, 'oh that's what normal teenage girls would do', and silently realised how far I was from the line of being happily careless.
  • I'm finding myself overthinking a lot of stuff lately too. And for the first time, it wasn't fun anymore.
  • Look how sentimental those were! Where did the fun yogurt cups that I effortlessly wrote go???
  • Feist - So Sorry.

Music post

Here are some of the records that have been keeping my music quest satisfied in the year 2011. You're gonna find that hardly any of them are released in 2011, because i find the current mainstream music is extremely exhausting and nonsense.
.
.
.

Florence + The Machine - Lungs

European musicians sure do a great job at refreshing the renowned. Although i find some tracks in this record quite scary, it still stands memorable tunes, catchy enough for you folks who are desperately seeking for easy-listening music, but odd enough for the curious to pay a visit.

The Fray - How To Save A Life

I know, i know, you don't need to start on how come i listen to it NOW when it was released in wayyyy back 2005. It was because of Louis Tomlinson i have to shamefully admit. But it's a decent record for the very few who haven't checked it out.

Fleetwood Mac - Rumours

Another shameful confession: Glee brought me to listening to this record. But if you're not one of those judgemental people ( although i do think i deserve a judgement ) and don't care about how i found out about this, cheers, i love you whoever you are. I didn't expect myself to like this record this much honestly, but it draws a perfect escape to the world of mid-70s alternative. Glee or no Glee, this is one to check out.

The Beatles - Beatles For Sale

As much as i'm obsessed with The Beatles and their whole band story ( yes i even just downloaded the movie Nowhere Boy, partly because there was a John Lennon and a Paul McCartney, partly because freaking Aaron Johnson and Thomas Brodie-Sangster never looked that good ), i need time to absorb their music completely. Beatles For Sale is one of those records where you can play in the bus, or randomly around the house when you're too tired of homework. Probably not their best record, but maybe the lack of stories inside each song frees the minds of the maniacs a bit.

Foster The People - Torches

One very sad point about this record is that it's made mainstream and "Pumped Up Kicks" has been playing nonstop on TV. And suddenly everyone listens to indie. People on my facebook kept posting the video every five minutes, and out of nowhere seven million of other facebookers jumped in and liked it and commented nonsense like 'oh this band has another song that sounds catchy thats Call It What You Want' and stuff.
Nevertheless, well, congratulations on an indie band that's finally recognized, and the world won't be drowned in meaningless rap songs or hit singles with only 20-listenable-seconds-of-lyrics. The record has a mix of the early Franz Ferdinand, a little bit of One Night Only, a tad bit of radio material, different enough to hang-on-frigging-iTunes-for-two-thousand-frigging-weeks. One of the very few records that dates 2011 in my list.

The Beach Boys - Pet Sound

Now you don't need to shove at my face on how come, again, i haven't listened to this record earlier in life. But, again, it's not about how i found out about it. I fell madly in love with each of the songs, felt like i couldn't be a bad person when i listened to it ( although reality has had its way to prove otherwise ). Don't need to review this, cause the record itself is awesome enough. And i remember a highly-rated comment on youtube under the song Wouldn't It Be Nice: "If Beatles & Beach Boys had kids, he'd be called God".

Ed Sheeran - +

One of my ultimate favorites from late-September-early-October and another one that's released in 2011. This is one of those records that questions you on what motivation that pushed you into listening to it, and you secretly thank that motivation a million times. Chloe Moretz tweeted a link to the acoustic version of Small Bump a while ago, a song with the most powerful lyrics that could bring anyone to tears. A standard record in my view. This is a must in your playlist.

The Kooks - Inside In/Inside Out

My indie spirit has gone quite dully this year, i couldn't find just awesome indie artists like i used to before, and i only found out about these guys about two or three weeks ago. Typical indie rock kids, decent album, better than i expected. Only one thing that bugged me about this record: WHY ARE THEIR SONGS SO SHORT IN LENGTH? Two minutes is barely enough for a good song!

Mumford & Sons - Sigh No More

I discovered this record in January 2011, not very much a discovery since their single Winter Winds was practically everywhere and this album was winding up and down on iTunes for a really long time after their Grammy nomination. I'm still very gutted that they didn't win the Grammy ( and i don't understand how the justin fucking bieber fans could actually hope that the douche would win a Grammy when he was nominated along with awesomeness under the name of Mumford & Sons ), but i'm sure Esperanza Spalding must be one hell of an artist to take the award away from these guys.
Oh how do i even begin to describe my obsession for this record? Winter Winds, i must admit, was only appealing enough for me to look up the name, i didn't even plan on listening to it again. It took me some time to give this record a serious amount of attention, then afterwards, i played it in a month straight i think. Every track has its edge, unique ways of contributing instruments, considerate lyrics and of course, an amazing vocal, the utmost important factor in one great record. I was thinking of writing a serious track-by-track review for this album a long time ago, but somehow now it's squeezed into a compilation music post. But, again, good music needs no word support.

Last but certainly not least, Frank Sinatra - Nothing But The Best

Another record that shows how much of a latecomer i am. I'd been listening to Buble and admiring the jazzy sound in his voice, but that was before i gave Sinatra a shot. Absolutely heartwarming voice that brings out a romantic and cozy mood right at the moment you play any of his songs. A great choice to tune in after a long day of pointless working.

.
.
.

Actually i've listened to a lot more than these few, but only made it through half of the records, so i felt disobliged to even review. Nevertheless so far this year hasn't been one rocking year in music finding for me. Hope you enjoyed this post. Haven't posted a complete one in such a long time!

4.30.2011

far off the world

Well obviously I am. I have 5 days off from horrible school (ugh) and have already used up 3 days in waste. Oh you know me. All i've achieved in those damned homework so far are the Math and English exercise, in which the English exercise didn't count much cause i finished it practically the night before the holiday started.
I only have two BOOKFULs of Physics exercise and Geography to cram and two Lit essays to turn in. Life's good, right? RIGHT?

.
.
.

Okay, talk a little bit about music. I think i may have taken another leap since the indie fever to getting to know about the 60's music where biggest musicians of all time have been born. Aside from The Fab Four and some Bob Dylan records, i didn't have much 60's hits in the ipod. Probably because i didn't know where to start and which good place to choose. But i started off with something even earlier like Doris Day and Ella Fitzgerald and fell completely in love. One question, why don't they make music like that anymore? The reason i like indie is because sometimes it brings back nostalgia of a golden time like that.
I did a research about The Beach Boys today and started listening to their album Pet Sounds. As i'm listening to the track "God Only Knows", i realized how tiresome the contemporary industry is. I know i've whined about it several, more than several times, but they sure didn't satisfy my quest for ultimately good music. Amy Winehouse, Adele or John Mayer (in his album Continuum only, the more i listened to Battle Studies, the crappier it gets) don't pop out on the chart everyday. It gets frustrating, feels like indie is the only genre that lives through the waves.
I listened to a piano-based, female-vocalized some the other day and felt, blank, bored. Am i that faraway from what kids love or am i just trying too hard? It feels lost sometimes when i'm at a complete loss when my friends talked about a Gaga song and stuff. I hate 00s pop sensations. Look how stupid that number looks. "00s" music, ugh, "60s" and "90s" are beautiful numbers. This reminds me of the song George Harrison sings that i just downloaded today, "as i'm sitting here, doing nothing but aging". Brilliant lyrics, another reason to abandon reality to wind back to the good ole days.
Youtube commenters could be so humorously smart sometimes, they have a comment like this: "The Beatles and The Beach Boys should have a baby, we'll call it God". Makes me laugh. At least someone with the right sense.
All i need to do now is to look for a companion.

Enough about the bull crap. I'm getting a cup of milk.

my stardust melody

.
.
.

I tell you, people could be jerks sometimes, the entire society is crowded with jerk-offs. After school i went out to the gift shop to get the ring i told you about, and i think everyone was looking at me. When i got home i found out, my backpack zippers had been open the entire time! Nobody told me, thank God nothing was stolen!

I've been listening to a lot of music lately, Bob & Jakob Dylan, Wallflowers, and some Bublé. I must say, i never gave Michael my full attention although i somewhat acclaimed myself to be a Bublé fan. I was looking for something in my room the other day listening randomly to his album Crazy Love and found out, it wasn't half bad. Maybe i did misjudge the album just because of the singles he's released, the music's got a very Sinatra atmosphere. Although comparing Michael Bublé to Frank Sinatra would be a little uneven because i think Michael's voice doesn't quite have the depth that has become recognizable to Sinatra, he did his best to keep up his forte and brings up the jazz vibe into this crazy and messed-up music industry to an extent. My only regret is that i didn't give time to listen thoroughly to this album at first, as it has a fresh take on classical orchestra and jazzy acapella intros. This is a better touch on the album comparing to MB or Call Me Irresponsible which, i think, has focused too much on the bluesy sounds. 4/5.
.
.
Do you know who, of all the artists out there, should release an acoustic album? McFly. I'm not being fangirl-ly and say that, but seriously, their live performances always top the studio versions. Guitar skills and voice combination of Tom Fletcher and Danny (♥) Jones make the songs fly up to whatever they should be composed for. And screw the R&B, rhythmic, club-mixes! Ew! Whoever came up with that idea should be rewarded a seat in the electric chair.
.
.

Okay, enough procrastination. Back to Geography exercise (which i'm googling the answers and i swear, google knows everything).

Dog days are over!

Florence + The Machine's album Lungs is completely on the money. This is so going into my 2011 discovery items!
And, really cool album artwork. Not that i bought the album because of it. Surprisingly, i was actually recommended (by all means of that word) to listen to Dog Days Are Over on iTunes.

Project.

Planning on a big project this weekend. Hopefully it'll work and i'll have the patience to complete it, cause if i do, it'll be the most interesting work i've ever done.

99,999999999% i won't finish it. I hate myself.

Excuses.

I highly recommend people to listen to this track because it is one of the most brilliant tracks i've ever listened to in my life. I play this song at least 5 times a day for the past month and haven't grown one bit tired of it.

I'm probably the only person who knew Torey Pudwill through The Morning Benders and not vice versa.

Playlist #2

Recent playlist:
  • Heavily addicted to She Will Be Loved. Sadly because of Miley Cyrus.
  • Tyrant- OneRepublic. Another one from The Last Song. Oh come on! The soundtrack is ridiculously good!
  • Breakeven- The Script. Been like a moron wandering around the class singing "cause when a heart breaks no it don't breakeeeeeven".
  • Made For You- OneRepublic. I seriously don't understand why Waking Up's sale is a tenth comparing to Dreaming Out Loud. Basically the two albums are pretty decent, Waking Up gets the fair share because Tedder's voice sounds even better. Americans can be really unfair sometimes.
  • I'm Getting Over You- Click Five. THEY'RE GRADUATES FROM BERKLEE NO KIDDING! EVEN KYLE PATRICK!
  • Trouble- NeverShoutNever! The beat in that song is so good probably the best part of the song.
  • Damnit Anna, Excuses, Crosseyed, Patient Patient, Waiting For A War- The Morning Benders. Can't remember how many times i've listened to the albums.

Been listening to a lot of alternative lately. Almost closing the first horrifying week of school. A lot has happened actually.

Still haven't had time to show you some of my doodles (:

Favorite takes from Angus and Julia Stone's song, Big Jet Plane.

Songs

Aah the new soundtrack of life. Gotta be good this time.

~ Panic At The Disco- The Only Difference Between Martyrdom & Suicide Is Press Coverage. I swear i could remember 7 words out of the name title and it was awesome!
~ One Night Only- Say You Don't Want It
~ Joe Brooks- Superman
~ The Killers- Mr. Brightside. Never gets old (:
~ Take That- Shine
~ NeverShoutNever- CheaterCheaterBestFriendEater. Thank you for making good music again (:
~ The Pretty Reckless- My Medicine. This is my ringtone. Everytime someone calls me i pick up the phone, finish the talk & open the music player to listen to the song again.
~ Weezer- Island In The Sun
~ Matt Costa- Josephine. This is actually a free song from his website. Doesn't mean it's not good. It just means that you can get it legally free (:

I want to get my butt up to do something, like maybe preparing for the exam due 2 days, but i got stuck with the almost-out-of-battery laptop. Or at least redo my nails. Anything but this.

Yoghurt cup #26

  • Nydc last night. First time out so late.
  • It's been one week. One week.
  • I personally think no one can outsing Give Me A Sign, that's why when i ran into comments like "you sound better than the original" on the covers on youtube, i frowned.
  • I'm terrified of growing up. Wrote a long entry here that i don't think i'm gonna post.
  • I need to write something more cheerful, just to cheer myself up. I've got a list of things i'm going to write in my journal. Think i'm gonna complete that list by the end of the summer semester.
  • Remembering about the little hideout i found last summer. It was the History & Art museum. Remember how it felt like to be there.
  • Broken playlist of mine:
~ Afraid- Vanessa Hudgens
~ Patience- Take That
~ Give Me A Sign- Breaking Benjamin
~ Boulevard of Broken Dreams- Green Day
~ Good Enough- Evanescence
~ Frozen- Within Temptation
  • Can't bear listening to John Mayer.
  • I do not want to turn 20. I hate that number.

Music that changed my life.

No need to say, i think all of you know how glad i am to have the laptop back. And i've been spending a lot of time reading real bloggers writing including the fact that i can't get access to facebook (which made me indescribably glad) made me think i'm gonna blog in theme.
Music has been my life since, ... ever. I remember a four-year-old me singing folk songs pretending i'm attending some kid's competition. There are some albums that i think contributed a great deal of making my character. It didn't turn out to be something beautiful & i never admitted i'm a good person, but without music, i think i'd be out there murdering right now. Who knows.

1. John Mayer- Continuum

This is, for sure, my most played album in the iPod. I play regularly every track of the album. And every track sticks to a time or an event that i've been through since 11th grade. I have to thank David Archuleta for introducing me to this smart & talented man who changed my mind. Now thinking back i really have no idea why i downloaded it in the first place. It's not the catchy music that's captivating in 30 seconds of trial on iTunes. I think normally i wouldn't have downloaded it. But i did. And i thank that decision of mine every time i pick up the iPod. Every song is a story, is a lesson of life. In his latest album, Battle Studies, his voice became smooth & sweet. That turned out to be a disappointment as in Continuum, John sounds a bit rough an, in my opinion, unprofessional. It's the voice of a guy still trying to figure out what life wants after all these years. I really don't know how many nights i turned this on as my bitter lullaby.
Recommended tracks: well it depends on you. This is an album with easy-to-listen tracks & hard-to-listen tracks. I personally like all. Especially ... oh what am i saying? I can't even pick one!

2. Keane- Hopes & Fears

I've been hearing about Keane for a long time now, but i never gave them a try. I don't have much faith in English musicians, but i found two tracks of the album, Bends & Break and Bedshaped, in a least likely person's iPod. And, as aggressive as i was, i downloaded the whole album but never listened to it for a while. Then one day when i was bored of the cheesy teen-pop that has been invading Bill the black music player, i listened to Keane. This is an album that makes you look at the bright side of life. Even in gloomy tracks like She Has No Time or Sunshine. It was until i was completely in love with the album did i understand why Keane stood out in the UK show business. The first-ever track i ever listened to was We Might As Well Be Strangers. And as strange as it may seem, the first track that i listen to always turns out to be my least favorite track. The love of Keane is not bitter & sarcastic like John's, it's the bright love of second chances, of commitment. If Continuum is a declaration of character, Hopes & Fears, like the title speaks, is more of bruised feelings that somehow i find myself having common.
Recommended tracks: I really love Bedshaped, This is the last time & Somewhere only we know.

3. Ryan Cabrera- Elm St.

I have to warn you, this is an extremely hard to find album. I remember having so much difficulty finding it, and finding it again after the iPod-wipe-out-accident. I'm a very picky acoustic listener, and i give this album a 5 out of 5. This is probably the album with simplest background music. Two base guitars, i think, trumpet, self-background vocal. Yet it made the difference. The first track that i listened to was Yesterday's Gone. It was easy to fall in love with the song. The honesty in his voice is the one thing i respect in the album. Cabrera's later album were losing the honesty. This album was limitedly released, with over 1000 copies released. Maybe because of the condition that made it the most honest album i could find. I can't actually make out the tracks in the album but in general, it's a beautiful album by all means of that word. This music brings back my kindness, the fragile & sparkling feelings of childhood, of sunshine & every precious memory i keep in my box. The music bears resemblance to some of the songs i used to hear over the balcony when i lived with my grandparents. It was partly the resemblance that make me so emotional when i listen to it. I don't listen to Elm St. when i'm angry or sad. I listen to it when i'm in my best condition, like right now, sitting in the living room writing about music. Life-changing.
Recommended tracks: Lost & Found, Spanish Song, Reasons, Lost Again. It's a pretty easy-to-listen album. Any tracks are good.

4. Lifehouse- No Name Face

I listened to Lifehouse since i was 12. No Name Face in my opinion is their best album & one of the first ones. Jason Wade's voice in this album exposed all of the magic part it could have. When i was twelve, i didn't know anything about strong bass or good taste in music, i just kept listening to Hanging By A Moment over and over for no reason. Wade's voice has a powerful strength of a rocker but yet the softness as if he was telling you a story. I'm not an alternative rock person, and i might be a little too personal about judging this album, but this is the music i grew up with. I don't know if this album helped me build any brick of my character house, i think the fact that i've been listening to it so much affected me in some way.
Recommended tracks: Hanging By A Moment, Sick Cycle Carousel, Quasimodo, Somebody Else's Song.

5. Vanessa Hudgens- V

It's time for some girl to speak. It is extremely unlikely that i recommend this album but this was the music i listened to when i had the biggest meltdown/emotional breakdown of my life yet. It was in 8th grade when i listened to this album. This is one of the rare albums that i refused to download & listened to the CD. Actually the CD was a birthday present from my once-used-to-be bestfriend. The album starts very commercially & catchy, then turns a bit bitter, this is also my favorite part of it, then turns a little dark, then bright again. It's an interesting work to enjoy. Despite Hudgens' character, this album is everything a girl needs when they go through high school phase. It's a bit bitterness, a bit revenge, a bit confidence, and a bit bossy. It's for confident girls who owns everything. It's also for loser girls who don't have anything. Hudgens' voice in the album is very girly, unpredictable, shy, yet strong & naughty in some parts. It's the voice that made this album special to me.
Recommended tracks: Drive, Afraid, Make You Mine.

6. Daniel Merriweather- Love & War

Merriweather is another guy to watch in the UK market. I first knew about him through his single Change. It was catchy, and i didn't expect the album to be that good. Merriweather's music is the blusy, soulful music that we see everyday in boulevards, but the way he puts himself into the album made it worthwhile. A lot of my friends questioned my choice of why i like him that much. Well, i chose to listen to him only. When i watched his video Red, he was just another guy who had stupidly big earrings & tattoos. But the way he expressed himself through songs like Live By Night or Water & A Flame was the reason why i think this guy is different. This is a very colorful album, it doesn't have any bright colors that burns your eyes, the colors are neutral yet combined turned out to be interesting. I've been listening to it for a year now and i still love it.
Recommended tracks: Live By Night, Chainsaw, For Your Money, Giving Everything Away For Free.

7. Brooke White- High Hopes & Heartbreak.

I will probably write a recommendation for Songs From The Attic but since i lost the album & haven't had the time to re-download it, this album is pretty good too. Brooke has been one of my favorite contestants since i first saw her performing Jolene. And the song Free in her album, i listened for 173 times. Brooke is not the one who can sing catchy tunes, her tunes are soft & a bit rough, good rough. And the fact that her album title is a brilliant title made this album one of my favorites. When i listened to Radio Radio, i didn't like it very much. It was a bit too commercial-like, not something Brooke can do well. The other tracks are really good though. People seem to judge this album really hard based on her cover of Use Somebody. Can i be honest? I like every female cover of the song, the original, not so much. Brooke has always been an emotional person and i love how she brings that specialty in every song.
Recommended tracks: California Song, Smile, Phoenix.

Aah that's it. I was up until 12 last night trying to finish this. I think i'm gonna do another one about my favorite songs (:

Fletcher's birthday.

Today's Tom Fletcher's birthday.
I went to tumblr, as usual and it was flooded with messages & photos & shout-outs & songs. I think this is the biggest celebrity birthday i've ever attended. The funny part is that, while on tumblr people are getting hysterical about this so-called McFly national holiday, my real world is silence. None of my friends are online in my messenger list, mom went out, left me in charge with lunch, which i absolutely hate, my neighbor isn't up yet. Just me & the laptop.
What makes me feel good about today isn't mostly because it's Tom's birthday, it's because for the first time, i'm actually a part of something big, something fun. I think when Tom wakes up the next morning he'll be drowned in flowers & gifts from Danny, Harry, Dougie & Gio he will just have a quick glance at tumblr or twitter, have a great smile & start his day. I don't blame him for not realizing how hard the McFans had to try to keep "FletcherBDay" on trending. Celebrities never fully realize how affective they could be. He'll probably never remember the names of each and everyone who contributed into this international birthday party. But that's ok.
Because the fans are the fans. I remember a couple years ago when i was sitting by myself in Jesse McCartney's birthday playing with his posters singing happy birthday to a guy who don't even know the country i live. And i felt hopeless. But now looking back at it, i think it's a part of the character-building chain. And although i don't think i've been fully built-up, days like that, when i was a junior high loser sitting with a bunch of black & white poster, made me a good person, or at least calmed the cruel part of me for a split of second.
The best part of this day is, picturing 10 years from now, all the McGirls are 25 26 years old, having a job, a husband, a baby. Some will be doctors, some will be teachers, some will design advertisements for shitty products, some will be filthy rich, some will be happy with their a-little-low-but-enough-for-a-living salary. And in one second of life, they will remember having a party for someone who used to be their biggest inspiration, someone who stole their heart, someone whose reply on twitter made them cry like a 5-year-old, and smile. They'll recall their teenage years, sitting before the computer with a bunch of friends whose faces they don't even know, enjoying the atmosphere of the most beautiful years of their life.

Not until now do i realize the role of an idol in one's life.

I'll definitely delete this post.
